After earning her BA in Anthropology at the University of Illinois, Jeannie pursued her interest in healthcare abroad. She worked in Cote d'Ivoire with Winrock International to implement women's reproductive health education and disease prevention.
Inspired to continue service and health work, Jeannie found Chinese medicine. Due to its wealth of history, and its ability to work with western allopathic medicine, she saw it as an ideal system for the integrative health movement in the US.
She completed a 4-year Masters program in Chinese medicine at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. This program is noted for its strong scientific focus. Jeannie apprenticed with both Japanese and Chinese style-teachers, treated at integrative clinical settings (San Diego hospice, UCSD athletic facility, a fertility clinic), ran a massage practice, and completed post-graduate studies in China. Recent additional training includes gynecology, pregnancy care, and post-partum recovery with Chinese medicine.
